Our Director, Ms Judy, our amazing teachers and our music director, Ms Jane come together twice a year to bring out the amazing talents of our youth in each of our school-wide plays. Every child has a memorable role and participates together to create a wonderful event for our families. The Learning Tree School believes the performing arts help bring these young children a sense of confidence that will build with them through the rest of their educations. The children love getting dressed up and learning other cultures as they immerse themselves in each play's theme.
Music with Ms Jane
Music class at The Learning Tree is a fun and exciting time for our students. It is taught by Ms. Jane, a mom of 2 learning tree alums. Lots of singing, dancing, and laughing occurs as we learn songs from and about the cultures we are studying. Yet something deeper is also happening. Our students are not only developing a love and appreciation for music but are also developing their listening skills, their ability to follow directions, and their confidence in themselves to perform in front of an audience.
The two-year-old classes meet twice a week and the 3-year, 4-year, and primer classes meet 3 days a week. In addition to music class, the 4-year-old and Primer classes have chimes once a week.
Holidays and World Cultures
A whole world multi culture learning curriculum takes center stage at The Learning Tree. Holidays are all celebrated and children learn about other counties' cultures and holidays throughout the year. Russian, African and Cowboy cultures are all studied at our school and learning to embrace your community is key.
Children are celebrated at The Learning Tree and we believe in making each child feel special on birthdays and major events like becoming a big brother/sister
EXTRA ARTS AND SPORTS
3 TO 5 YEAR OLDS (PRE-K)
Soccer Shots Classic utilizes creative and imaginative games to focus on basic soccer skills like dribbling, passing and shooting. We also highlight a positive character trait each session such as respect, teamwork and appreciation.
Art is offered once a week and children explore their creative sides with projects to grow their inner artist.
Julie Frieling, a mother of 3 former Learning Tree students, teaches gymnastics to our children in an extra add-on class at the end of the day once a week.
Parent Led Outside Sports
Although not sanctioned by The Learning Tree School, our parents often lead sporting teams through our local YMCA in order to give our children a start in team sports to grow together and further friendships. We encourage our families to participate in their community together.
Sinsei Rolan Nery, thru Chamberlain Studio of Self Defense Karate Studios, teaches karate to the older children as an after school class once a week. He has been coaching karate at the Learning Tree for almost 10 years now.
